These "LIMITED EDITION" sets were re-mastered in the last half of 1983 from the ORIGINAL 1st generation studio master tapes (according to MFSL) onto extremely quiet virgin "Super" vinyl. This vinyl has low background noise and supposedly lasts longer than other vinyl. MFSL also used specialized equipment for playing back the original tapes and carving these top quality records- both machines were run at half speed. This remastering technique ensures the best possible frequency response and dynamic range to extract the most from the tapes. The albums feature the original album artwork. The box set does not include the GEO-DISC.

Records are in near mint condition. The box is in fair condition. Has some small tears and scratches.

 

LPs cleaned with Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine. Treated with LAST record preservative. LAST Record Preservative chemically enhances the molecular stability, and therefore the cohesiveness of the groove surface so that it completely resists the effects of stylus shock waves. The 30-second treatment affects the vinyl to a depth of about ten molecular layers and becomes part of the grove wall. LAST Record Preservative has been universally applauded by the super-critical editors of audio publications. And numerous writers have made the point that LAST Record Preservative produces audible benefits far beyond its original purpose as a preservative.  According to the editor of International Audio Review, LAST Record Preservative provides an almost 10-dB reduction in high-frequency IM distortion as measured on a test record.
