Description

Hello and Welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE/ARTIST: "Folk Festival at Newport Volume 3" by Various Artists on the Vanguard Records label (VRS 9064) in vintage original stereo sound, issued in 1959.
CONDITION OF VINYL: Near Mint(Vinyl is shiny and glows with vitality - graded visually using special daylight balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: EX(Jacket has light wear to edges and corners; NOTE: Includes original Vanguard inner sleeve - please see photos of actual album offered).
SPECIAL FEATURES: Very rare Vanguard Records Stereo 1959 issue of Newport Folk Festival classic featuring some of the most astounding early folk tracks ever recorded; these are amazing recordings, featuring everyone from Earl Scruggs (who even does an encore of his "Flinthill Special" to start the album) to Oscar Brand. To hear what was really going on in the '50s "folk scene", this album is incomparable. Don't miss this one. Great informative liner notes, and it just sounds terrific, too.
