Description

FLEX YOUR HEAD – (DISCHORD 07) – 12” LP White Label Test Pressing!! Guaranteed Original First Pressing from 1982!  Extremely rare – only a small handful of these were made (around 20, I think).  I have had this copy since the records were first pressed 31 years ago.  At the time I was working at the legendary Yesterday & Today Records in the DC suburbs and the owner of the store (Skip Groff) was very involved in getting many of these early DC punk records off the ground.  These test pressings were originally shipped from the Nashville pressing plant directly to Y & T Records, and this copy was one of the first ones out of the box. The rest were passed on to Dischord and they were planning to send some out to a few radio stations and reviewers.  The guys at Dischord glued a special flyer with a track listing onto the outside of the paper sleeve, but most were not actually sent out for review.  You can see that flyer illustrated on most of the Dischord discographies online. My copy however does not have that flyer, as I got it before those flyers were attached.  Mine actually has a different flyer, as illustrated in the above photo.  My flyer was inserted loose inside the record sleeve, and is quite a rare one itself!  I may have added this flyer myself back then from flyers that we had on hand in the store at the time – but I’m not positive on that.  This is a MUST HAVE for any collector of Dischord Records / DC HarDCore and rarely comes up for sale.

 

Regarding the condition of the vinyl – this copy is as Mint as you could possibly find – Archive quality!  It has never been played or even removed from the sleeve since it was pressed. I am conservatively grading it as NM because of its age and to be cautious. The labels and flyer are crisp and white – not yellowed or aged at all.
