FATS DOMINO

SIDE A:     VAGUE POR EL MUNDO

                  (I’ve Been Around)

SIDE B:     SE MI INVITADO

                  (Be My Guest)

WOW!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original MONO Polydor “scroll” Records very first press released in Chile late 1959 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos, licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number 612 007, with matrix numbers (machine etched) 612-007-A (hand etched) 45-XAL-2258 S-2 5629 in Side A and (machine etched) 612-007-B (hand etched) 45-XAL-2259 S-1 5629 in Side B, with traditional orange/black Polydor “scroll” Records labels!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Fats Domino and early days of Rock’N’Roll music!!!

As you must know, “Be My Guest” was originally released as single in 1959 and and we didn’t have to wait much because the same year this single was also released here in Chile. The song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and publishers and time of each song, with additional information “Recorded By Imperial Hollywood U.S.A.” and the price, $1.380, printed in Side A. If you know this single, maybe you will have already noticed the most important fact about this Chilean issue, here in Chile the sides are inverted!!! Yes, in original single the Side A is “Be My Guest” and Side B it’s “I’ve Been Around”, as you can confirm with the matrix numbers in the deadwax, but here in Chile the Side A is “I’ve Been Around” and Side B “Be My Guest”!!! So far I know, only in Chile the sides are inverted!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE single of Fats Domino, released in Chile the same original year and with UNIQUE INVERTED SIDES and by the very first time offered in eBay!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in VG- or even VG condition (if you see it with “love”) both sides, it has lost part of its shine, but it’s clean, with loads and loads of scuffs, hairlines and scratches of all sizes and in all directions, which amazingly don’t affect play at all. You could even think the record won’t play properly, but it runs without problem. Labels are in VG- or VG condition in both sides, with moderate wear in the big spindle hole, tears, some faint blemishes and writings in both sides but still clear and fully readable. The sound is in strong VG- or VG condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with some light constant crackles, and occasional light pops here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record still keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with Spanish-written song titles, sure not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a nice look and a still a decent and respectable sound quality after about 63 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this is the very first time this single pressed in Chile is auctioned here in eBay!!! Just try to remember if you have seen any other single by Fats pressed in Chile before!!! And this single is UNIQUE, it has the sides inverted!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

______________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
