Very, very hard to find progressive heavy psych/folk/blues album in the vein of LED ZEPPELIN , CREAM etc. A nice quality album with really strong exciting tracks.
THE SUPREME VINYL PLAYS GREAT ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOTH SIDES.
THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CLEARLY AND CRISPLY WITHOUT DISTORTION. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NO STICKS OR JUMPS!
IT ILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE THIS TURNS UP AGAIN WITH AGAIN MORE TAKERS THAN EVER BEFORE. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT PIECE.
The third time really was the charm for Fanny, the pioneering all-female rock band who were the first act of their kind to win a major-label record deal in 1970. While Fanny's second album, 1971's Charity Ball, was a solid and imaginative set whose title track became a minor hit single, their third album, 1972's Fanny Hill, truly caught them at the peak of their strength. Produced by Richard Perry at London's Abbey Road Studio, with Geoff Emerick as engineer (who worked on several of the Beatles' best recordings), Fanny Hill is the group's hardest-rocking set, full of June Millington's big, raunchy guitar figures facing off with Nickey Barclay's rollicking keyboards, the smart but muscular rhythm section of Alice de Buhr on drums and Jean Millington on bass, and the foursome's stellar harmonies. Fanny were more than capable of effectively turning down the tempo for quieter numbers like "You've Got a Home" and "Wonderful Feeling," but it's rockers like "Blind Alley" and their covers of Marvin Gaye's "Ain't That Peculiar" (with Rolling Stones associate Bobby Keys on sax) and the Beatles' "Hey Bulldog" where Fanny demonstrate they were one of the best and most underappreciated American rock bands of the '70s. Fanny Hill still stands out as this group's strongest and most exciting work.(review from all music.com)
Vinyl: EX+ TO NM. A sublime vinyl with fantastic sound reproduction. Barely played and well cared for album and a fantastic upgrade for this ultra collectable title. No marks, and no hairlines, still looks gleaming and glossy. First press matrices and mother stampers. Correct miss press of "furst" instead of "first" on the label, signifying a proper 1st press of this ultra rarity. I have played this in full on my premium sound system (LINN SONDEK, B&W, ARCAM) and the stereo sound is still supreme and this plays with strong gusto. NO skips, jumps crackle etc. This will be a fantastic item for most long time psych/blues/prog collectors! A true upgrade.
Insert: EX/NM
Sleeve: EX. Matt and very vulnerable sleeve but this is one of the very best kept ever seen. The spine is 100% legible. The edges are fully intact. A nice super crisp opening. This is a super rare album and only the second ever I have come across as an original first press. Please have a close look at the pictures. They don't come around like this very often.
This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 45.00. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise
This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questins please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
