PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. ABSOLUTELY STILL FACTORY SEALED ....Original 1974 first pressing, never opened, never played in nearly 40 years...
Yoko does pretty straightforward rock/blues-based stuff, and it works. Of course her voice is quite different from the usual pop-rock singer of the day, and her lyrics are WAY beyond either sappy love songs or goofy psychedelic nonsense. Approximately Infinite Universe is a more conventional album for Yoko; all of the songs had the potential for radio airplay, with beautiful vocals in a bizarre kind of way. The music is not just about sounding pretty, she's far more talented than people give her credit for. "Death of Samantha" is a haunting masterpiece and one of her absolute best songs, as well as "Yang Yang", "I Want My Love to Rest Tonight", "Catman", "I Felt Like Smashing My Face in a Clear Glass Window" (great title), and "Now or Never". Better than a lot of solo Beatle records....yesteryear's feminist sounded quite accessible in 1974. Most of the social commentary manages to be engaging with poignant songs. She can be quite expressive and vulnerable. Approximately Infinite Universe, is a comprehensive showcase of avant-garde feminist rock, and contemplative acoustic and piano ballads. If hardcore Beatles defenders could get past the Yoko Ono stigma, they would find that this album is one of the overlooked gems of the 1970s. Ono is unquestionably the pioneer of the riot girl movement, and on this album, she doesn't take that role lightly. She serves as a co-producer (with her husband John Lennon) and handles all of the musical arrangements, which was something of a rarity for women, even in the super liberated ambiance of the -70s. At the same time, you see another side to Lennon as well - we see him as a much more adventurous, more multifaceted guitar player. His playing on Approximately Infinite Universe makes you wonder why he never took the Beatles in a similar direction. Onos work tends to be intellectually stimulating in a way that the Beatles work simply was not. All wife-oriented comments aside, this bold and musically brainy record shows why its no surprise that Lennon wanted to keep working with one of the most important avant-garde artists of all time.A:
