Eraldo Volonté  Acetate advance copy of the Lp 'Jazz (now) in Italy' issued on the label Equipe EQLP 1001 - rec. in Milano, Italy on February 1966 - this acetate is probably an early version of the album which will then be released few weeks later in 1966   The acetate is partially similar to the original Lp but has the following noticeable differences :
A1 'Eclypso' 7.48 and A2 'Flamingo' 6.55 are different alternate takes - A3 'Untitled' 7.59 is an unissued track which replaces the track 'Ornette' present in regular Lp as B1 B1 'Explorable' 9.05 is an alternate take - B2 'Tale' 3.55 is the same track on regular Lp - B3 'Mr. Arpo' 4.57 different take without drum solo introduction
Eraldo Volonté : tenor, soprano sax - Dino Piana : trombone - Franco D'Andrea : piano - Giovanni Tommaso : double bass - Franco Tonani : drums     
  • Visual grading : acetate is Good still with some lustre has several surface scuffs and lines on both sides but no major faults 
  • Playing grading : acetate is Good plays with the usual well audible acetate background noise and has some crackling and some ticks but no big faults
  • Please note that the sound of this metal acetate has acoustic problems and the play is not comparable in any way to the quality of the original contemporary records

  • A piece of history because this acetate belonged to the Eraldo Volonté personal collection and contains some unissued tracks of his art
