Description
Emma Boynet plays Faure, 6 Nocturnes, Vox PL 7520, 1952 mono. One of the rarest there is. Beautiful playing and nice sonics.
I acquired this copy, along with many other Vox, Concert Hall and Westminster albums from a Dallas, TX music reviewer and philanthropist's estate. Like most of his early 50's mono albums, it was likely played very few times.
Play graded with a Grado MC+ mono cartridge. This record has not been vacuum cleaned.
VINYL - NM overall but needle drop takes it to VG visual and VG- play grade.
Side 1: Excellent NM gloss but has a needle drop half way through the first track, It is not big but it is noticeable and it produces about 15 micro bursts of noise that unfortunately are at the level of the recording. Background noise is present and there are a handful of other clicks as well. Very enjoyable, except for the above, the quality of the recording itself was unexpected.
Side 2: Excellent NM gloss but has a noticeable background repeating noise patch. I don't know if this is the vinyl or residue from an early cleaning. One 1/4" scratch on third track that did not add noise. Background noise is present and there are a handful of clicks as well.
COVER- EX+ - Very clean and solid with a fresh interior. Nicest cover of this I've seen.
LABELS - NM+ - Very clean.
The record will be shipped in a rice paper sleeve and all will be inside an audiophile approved outer record sleeve. They will be shipped in a new pre-cut professional mailer with appropriate extra cardboard and padding, wrapped tight.International bidders welcome.
