"This week is the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll. The world will pay tribute with the recognition of the "Global Moment in Time" on July 5, 2004 - 50 years to the day when Elvis recorded "That's All Right" at Sun Studio in Memphis. This recording became a pivotal moment in rock history and is considered "the big bang" in the dawn of the rock 'n' roll era."
This is an original that was part of a sweet old Grandmas collection. It has been stored in a 78 binder for many years. Record surely has not been played in 25 years at least. I have no 78 player to play test so the following is a visual grade only. This record has been played and enjoyed. The labels are clean and bright and in EXCELLENT condition. I grade the vinyl as G/VG. There is a slight imperfection in the pressing at the at the very lead in. Being sold as the true antique/collectible it is. Sold "as is" with NO RESERVE this very weekend of July 5th the 50th anniversary of it's original recording!
We have some of sweet Grandmas other 78's up this week as well. More early Elvis on RCA (BLUE MOON) Carl Perkins(SUN # 234)The Crickets with a guy named Buddy Holly(Brunswick) just some great historic EARLY Rock pressings all from the same collection, so please take the time to click on "view sellers other auctions" and check out all the phoyos and descriptions.
Because Elvis is still THE BIG E, and because this record will no doubt be going to a BIG E fan, SHIPPING IS FREE! If you want insurance you can pitch in for that is you wish
Thanks Everyone. I wish you all good luck and do enjoy your bidding!
On Jun-29-04 at 23:21:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a number of inquiries about the numbers in the trail off of the record so here they are:The trail #'s
U-128-2 #72 looks like the letters "OK" are etched there as well
U-129-2 #72 it also looks like it says "OK" there as well
I do hope you find this helpful.
On Jun-29-04 at 23:33:01 PDT, seller added the following information: It is my understanding that the trail markings authenticate that this is a 1954 pressing of the SUN 78 record # 209.Yes, the photos in the listing are of the actual record the winning bidder will recieve. The record does have some general wear, but the labels are VERY clean and well kept as this 78 along with the rest of the 78's in this collection have been stored in 78 record binder/books all these years.
Thanks again and enjoy the day!
