ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS” (LPM-1382), A FIRST PRESSING WITH ALTERNATE TAKE OF "OLD SHEP" (matrix 17S)! AS AN ADDED BONUS, THIS HAS THE RAREST COVER PRODUCED FOR THIS ISSUE, WHICH SHOWS THE SONG TITLES ON THE BACK SHIFTED FAR TO THE LEFT!           RECORD: VG with very pleasing gloss for the grade. Even though there are many light scratches & scuffs, this Indianapolis pressing played quite well upon test, with no skips or repeats! This is the rare and highly sought-after, Alternate Take of "Old Shep" issue! The labels are clean and original, showing just light spindle marks and fingerprinting. This album, Elvis' second, was released in November of 1956 and includes the smash hit, "Love Me". The matrix numbers on this record end with 1S/17S.       COVER: VG+ with no seam splits, tape or staple holes present. However, there is some corner tip wear, edge & spine wear as well as some light to moderate ring wear. The spine is fully legible. The original owner wrote their initials ("PM") to the upper right corner in blue ball-point pen (please see all photos). This is the absolute rarest of all the cover varieties for this issue, showing the song titles on the back shifted far to the left! This cover is more scarce that ANY of the "Ad-Back" covers and is highly sought-after by collectors.                INNER SLEEVE:  A generic RCA Victor sleeve from 1958, that lists "Elvis' Golden Records" (LPM-1707) among a lengthy list of other albums available at the time. One side is almost completely split. The record will be housed in a plain white sleeve for shipping purposes.will accompany the record for shipping purposes.
