Description

Elvis' super rare RCA Victor Compact 33 Single, released December 1961. (RCA # 37-7968).  Two songs from the movie Blue Hawaii, Title song is Can't Help Falling In Love and also Rcok-A-Hula Baby.  This sleeve and record are extremely rare and are hardly ever seen in this condition. Rates amongst the rarest Elvis sleeves and records in the world.  The label is mint and it is beautiful on both sides.   Looks like it has hardly ever been played.  The sleeve does have slight ringwear and slightly wrinkled at the top of the sleeve on both sides, but ranks a VG+ rating. The Can't Help Falling In Love side has hardly noticeable ringwear, just slight.

No rips, tears or writing on sleeve.  Look at photos. RCA Records put out very few of this style of record, a 7-inch disc that plays only on 33 rpm speed.  RCA was trying to satisfy fans that did not want to change speeds when playing 33 rpm records. RCA had already released both songs on 45 rpm with sleeve (which sold way over a million singles), but decided to release this also on 33 rpm, again with basically same sleeve but with Compact 33 Single at the top of one side of the sleeve. The Rock-A-Hula Baby side does have the verbage stating that it is a Compact33Single.  If you look at all of the record collector books, this is listed at a very high value due to the rarity of  the low number of pressings. Good luck on bidding.

All of the Compact33Singles sleeve and record issued were made in the U.S.A.

Just a Note: RCA did release other Compact 33 Singles in other countries.

However, only the U.S.A. Compact33Singles maintain the higher value due to less pressings.

As you can plainly see that this release is plainly marked, Made in U.S.A. on the record and also on the sleeve. The Made in U.S.A. on the sleeve is on the Rock-A-Hula Baby side of the sleeve.  The print is on the lower right hand side and states: (c) RCA printed in the U.S.A.
