Edward Vesala - I'm Here (Blue Master, Spel 311, 1973 Finland).
This is quite a rare percussion record on which Edward plays Drums, Percussion, Gong, Cymbal, Cylophone, Marimba, Chimes, Sitar, Clockwork etc. The music is mostly percussive but Edwards lyrical and powerful drumming makes this a musical statement, instead of a boring and lenghthy drum solo. The marimba/cylophone pieces are beautiful static haunting hypnotic cuts in Terry Riley/Steve Reich vein. Highly recommended!
This was released on the obscure Blue Master Special label that also released the very sought after Hot Lotta (Brötzmann, Kowald, Vesala, Aaltonen) & Apollo. Recommended for fans of Avant, Free Jazz, Minimalism, Xenakis, Terry Riley, Stockhausen, Steve Reich, La Monte Young...
Condition: Near Mint/Excellent (LP's/Gatefold cover). Record looks amazing under a bright light. Cover is also very nice with only a light storage wear. Very hard to find like this even here in Finland. Any questions please ask. Happy bidding...
