A very rare early radio program . . . Early 1931 Brunswick 78rpm Radio Transcriptions - Complete Program on 3 records Three 12-inch one-sided 78rpm Brunswick shellac pressings Program C - Parts 1, 2 and 3 . . Radio presentation of a capsule version of a musical film  Recorded in Los Angeles, January 25, 1931 Matrix numbers LAT 922, LAT 923 and LAT 924 Sponsored by Jantzen Knitting Mills - In Cooperation with Warner Bros. First National Studios This program is a very early example of a radio adaptation of a movie using original cast members These discs are actually cast recordings of this early musical film. While sponsored by Jantzen, Warner-First National received much publicity through the use of its stars to promote their film. The film itself had a premiere in late November 1930 and was released in 1931 At this time, Brunswick was owned by Warner Bros. - the only movie studio to own a major record company. Warners used their L.A. recording studios for recording many of their stars and staff for radio use. Little has survived. This program features original movie cast members Vivienne Segal, Walter Pidgeon and Alexander Gray Songs by Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein II and featured during the program (see writing on labels) Complete programs of any kind are rare from this period, especially any using movie stars. Transcriptions are in Excellent or better condition. There is one bad groove on Part 1, only in dialogue and not affecting music.
