Description

The FLAMINGOS THE LADDER OF LOVE tri-BRUNSWICK 05696 lovely EX / EX-

On offer is a lovely condition rare doo-wop The FLAMINGOS 45rpm entitled THE LADDER OF LOVE c/w LET'S MAKE UP as released on tri-centre BRUNSWICK 45-05696 in 1957.

The vinyl on this rare and sought after Brunswick label doo-wop 45 is in EX/EX- condition: very clean and with a lovely sheen to the vinyl. There are a couple of surface marks on each side of the disc - but these do affect play at all. This copy has been very well looked after the years: being in my collection since the mid 1960s - when I first started collecting. A couple of years ago - when clearing my old stuff out of my parents' house I re-found a pile of these old 45s - and this doo-wop gem was amongst them thankfully still protected in its' original sleeve: just as I had left it in 1967 when I fled the nest.

The record labels are nice and clean, with no writing on them.

The record sounded great when I test played it on my BOSE record player.

The record comes housed in its’ original BRUNSWICK label company sleeve... and I will also send it in a new reproduction BRUNSWICK sleeve. See scans.

It's a rare 45 that is hard to find these days - especially in the nice condition that this example is in.

I use the RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM: as follows

MINT (M) THE RECORD ITSELF IS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION WITH NO SURFACE MARKS OR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND ANY EXTRA ITEMS SUCH AS THE LYRIC SHEET, BOOKLET OR POSTER ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. RECORDS ADVERTISED AS SEALED OR UNPLAYED SHOULD BE MINT.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.

VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.

GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.

THE USE OF PLUS (+) OR MINUS (-) ALLOWS FOR ITEMS THAT FALL BETWEEN THE ABOVE GRADES.
