Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ORIGINAL 1966 FIRST PRESS LOCAL SAN FRANCISCO RELEASE THE DEFINITION OF PSYCHEDELIA
Country Joe And The Fish
\ USA - RAG BABY
Considerably scarce, mid sixties original first pressing of the local Bay Area private press release by Country Joe And The Fish a year before their famous first Lp ... The band were forerunners of the hippie rock scene as showcased by this wonderful 1966 extended play disc.
Different, SUPERIOR versions of tracks from their first Lp "Electric Music For The Mind and Body" -- the E.P. is a defining moment in the birth and evolution of psychedelic rock music in USA.
The E.P. was clearly way ahead of its time for June, 1966, when the psychedelic period was just beginning to come into its own. In fact, these extended tracks sound more like something recorded at the peak of that period. "Bass Strings" is pure acid rock enhanced by a celestial drug enhanced atmosphere featuring Voxx organ and reverbed guitar. "Thing Called Love" shows the other side of the Fish, a hard rock affair by guitarist Barry Melton. The flip-side "Section 43" is a monster track -- a very trippy, psychedelic mind weaver with an infectious melody that could easily serve as the true definition of psychedelic music...
Recorded 06-06-66, released as Country Joe & the Fish

I said, hey partner, now won't you pass that reefer round,
You know my world is spinnin', yeah, I just have to slow it down.
I said, hmm, yeah you know that I sure got to slow it down,
Got so high this time that you know I'm never comin' down.Well, I'll go out to the seashore, baby, let the waves wash my mind,
You know I'll open up my head now to see what I can find,
I said hmm, yeah you know I'm gonna see what I can find,
Just one more trip now, you know I'll stay high all the time.Yes, I'll go out to the desert just to try and find my past.
You know I got heavens all around me,
They're just beyond my grasp.
I said hmm, yeah you know they are just beyond my grasp.
I'll let the sand and the stars and the wind carry me back.
