CONJUNTO DE LA ESCUELA DE GRUMETES-Surf y Otros Ritmos-VENEZUELAN, LP EG 001, 1965?

Very rare LP recorded circa 1965 by an unknown group of aspiring recruits for the Venezuelan Navy, with the purpose of... (as we can read on the back cover) “To foster within them the development of cultural and artistically driven activities as the perfect vehicle towards shaping ones spiritual path”. 

 The record is part of a privately pressed edition with no Record Label name, in which we find the tag LP-EG-001 as our only reference printed solely on the cover. Some text can be found on the vinyl´s label which seems to allude only to the manufacturer: “Made in Venezuela by PRODUCTOS PLAX”.
 
The tracks on the record are Spanish versions of songs from the 60´s by Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc... with a teenage garage/beat feel, the crude and amateur sound that we so much love hearing these days of which the author of the back cover notes alerts us to: “It is obvious that in an edition of this nature, and based on their amateur status, if we can call it that, our basic goal was to challenge these young cadets without altogether abandoning the pursuit of excellence in relation to the artistic content and execution of the same, making these factors decisive in the recording´s character”
