EMMET SPICELAND – The First ORIG Page One LP / POLS 011 (UK, Stereo, 1968)
Happy to present this very rare Irish folk LP.
This is a brilliant copy of a very hard to find UK press on the turquoise blue Page One label and plays impeccably without any faults or surface noise whatsoever – important for a gentle folk LP such as this.
The front-laminated, tri-flipback sleeve is also in a very pleasing condition. There are a couple of ‘thumb’ creases to the front along with some small edge creases. Tiny dent to the bottom front left corner. Very faint ring impression to the front. But that’s about it. Front laminate is still superbly shiny (no rubbing or dullness), spine is brilliant (no nicks or compression), edges are tight and not split. Rear panel is nice and white and indeed the whole of the rear looks close to mint. No writing, scrapes, tears, water damage, ripples or bends. Really great example which may be very hard to better. Grades a true and full EX (Excellent).
The late 1960s blue labels are in a fine condition. Hard to find any faults at all. Negligible spindle evidence, no writing, scrapes, residue. Superb set of these vintage labels!
The medium-weight vinyl is a really fresh and clean example. Hard to find anything to fault at all here. NO hairlines, scuffs or scratches AT ALL. MAXIMUM shine. Looks absolutely pristine throughout. Just a beautifully preserved disc which will be very difficult to better. Worthy of my top grade of M- (Mint Minus) visually. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays like a dream – NO snap, crackle or pop – not even any dust static. NO ticks or clicks at all and certainly no distortion or loss of clarity. An incredible listen which will not disappoint (guaranteed!). The play grade matches the visual one – unbeatable.
