Howdy folks....I recently purchased a mega collection of Arizona 45's and after spending some time sorting through all of them for upgrades and missing titles, I'm ready to offer these HTF desert biscuits to the world. I'm starting at the top of the list with some pricier items, but not to worry, the price will be lowered until sold. Lots more to list....Let me know your wants. Next up: This extremely rare Eva-tone single-sided flexidisc is the only existing original physical example of the legendary Los Angeles power-pop / new wave group Elton Duck. The group often performed at such venues as Madame Wong’s, the Troubadour and Club 88 where they were the unofficial house band playing power-pop rock and new wave music eventually opening for such acts as The Knack and The Motels.
As the 1980s opened, Elton Duck was signed to the Arista label and re-christened The Decoys. After several personal changes the official lineup was Mike McFadden (lead guitar and vocals), Mike Condello (rhythm guitar and vocals), Andy Robinson (Horsefeathers)(drums, dulcimer and vocals) and Michael Steele (Bangles) (bass and background vocals). They stepped into the studio with ex-Sparks guitarist Earle Mankey, producer and engineer of records by assorted acts such as the Dickies, 20/20, Elton John, The Beach Boys and Concrete Blonde.
Unfortunately, Arista execs shelved the album (Boo Clive), until it was released some 40 years later as a CD (OOP) from the surviving members.
The flexi-disc featured in this auction is the only single EVER officially released from the group prior to their disbanding. Very much sought-after among punk and new wave collectors and RARELY seen for sale. There is a clip on You Tube of this track.
