MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND CBS Records very first Stereo press released by CBS Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1979 by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A., catalog number 12031, with hand etched matrix numbers 12031-A z in Side A and 12031B y in Side B, with traditional orange/black CBS Records labels and white “DISCOS CBS”. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all Electric Light Orchestra lovers, fans and collectors!!!

The first to tell about this MEGARARE EP of Electric Light Orchestra is that it was RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE and as you can see it also has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, which’s the same Picture Sleeve of the album “Discovery”, you can even see the title “Discovery”, for both the front and back cover, with song titles of the 4 songs written in Spanish only and green tinted!!! The only difference between front and back cover is that in back cover at the top right corner is the CBS Records logo and catalog number and at the bottom edge, at left side, is the year and credits for this release in Chile. This record plays at 33 1/3 rpm. In labels the song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English (except “Confusion”, because in Spanish it’s the same, well, “Confusión” to be more exact), with credits for Jeff Lynne as songwriter and producer. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX-, complete, with some creases and ring wear, minimal wear in the edges, more evident in corners and in the mouth, with little rips, a name written at right bottom edge of front cover and some blemishes, without seam splits, which’s a real miracle for this kind of cover. The record is in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with scuffs and some soft hairlines and very soft scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in great NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in great EX- or EX condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only minimal occasional crackles here and there, and in VG+ or EX- condition the Side B, same condition as Side A, but with a little more crackles and some soft clicks at the end of song “Last Train To London”, which don’t really affect the experience to listen and enjoy this record from the beginning to the end. Overall this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS and will satisfy any serious collector!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE SONG TITLES WRITTEN IN SPANISH ONLY in cover and the most important, THIS EP of Electric Light Orchestra WAS RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
