"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. (THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOME DEGREE OF SNAP, CRASCKLE AND POP WITH THIS GRADING - DEKE)
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced. (THERE WILL OFTEN BE SOME HOP, SKIP AND JUMP WITH THIS GRADING - DEKE)
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
And now a few words about Dear old Deke and the way I work. All records are packed in pro mailers with stiffeners. All other items are packed carefully. I can't be held responsible for the actions of the odd errant Postman Pat, but I'll sure help you retrieve the missing item or seek a refund if damaged. It only happens once in a blue moon.
Next, I'd like to say that I'm a real Postmaster Flash. I live close to a small post office and sometimes mail twice a day when I'm busy with selling. I have no idea why I haven't got a maximum score on the speed of delivery as I always post same/ next day. I think that some of our overseas brethren wanted me to jump on the next available flight and deliver by hand the following day.
And then there's my communication rating. Again, I think it should be a Max. I always email to say thanks for buying and to tell you when it's in the post. What else do people want? If you want to be a Facebook buddy well ok, or maybe we could go out for a drink sometime.
Whatever happens, Dear old Deke won't let you down. Ask my wife. On second thoughts ask my son.
Collection from my house in St Albans is always ok. It's now AL1 2PH, not as listed. I can't change it as some funny stuff starts happening and I've already lost this listing once.
