Description
Despite what you made read about Eddy Arnold's "Texarkana Baby" being "the" first 45 rpm, RCA released several hundred 45's on March 31, 1949, the first day of the 45 rpm record. My understanding is that the RCA Youth Series, all of which have the "clock" jacket pictured here, were a part of that first day release. Soon afterward, the Youth Series was replaced by the 'Little Nipper" series, which lasted a few years. When played, the disks have some pops and crackles, but nevertheless are in amazing shape for children's records.
An indication of an earlier pressing of these RCA 45's is the indentation surrounding the center hole.
Tubby the Tuba seems to be one of the more difficult ones to find in the Youth Series.
