Description
Original, black label with silver/ gold text and logo. This is a sampler. On Side A, Track 1-Sun Ra; Track 2-Donald Byrd; Track 3 Dick Wetmore, Tommy Ball, Pat Petracco; Track 4- Herb Pomeroy, Ray Santisi. Side B, Track 1-Curtis Fuller (first appearance on record), Pepper Adams, John Coltrane; Track 2-Cecil Taylor; Track 3- Jay Migliore. Some of the Tracks may have only appeared on this sampler. An example is Side A, Track 4, "Tiny's Blues" is an alternate take from the album "Jazz In A Stable". I have included a photocopy of the original booklet thatwas included with the record (this booklet is not stapled). The booklet has an introduction by Chuck Israels as well as some unique photos. The booklet lists all personnel. Very rare.
Cover: VG(-) 2" split on the top edge at the insert edge. Some wear on the edges including the insert edges, top and bottom. The back cover is plain with a sticker indicating the "notes" inside the jacket. I am including the note booklet described outside the jacket.
Record: Fair The record shows wear with a number of surface rub marks and scratches. On Side A, Tracks 1,2,3 have scratch marks that results in repeted clicks throughout these Tracks. Possibly most audible on Track 3, however, the noise terminates towards the end of that Track. There are 4 or 5 very light clicks on Track 4. On Side B, Tracks 1 and 2 have 1 or 2 scratches through most of both Tracks. There are clicks through these Tracks. Track 3 has several clicks but less than the preceding Tracks. Those interested should be aware of the general overall noise. The scratches can be heard clearly and are pervasive as described. Please take note of this. Audibly checked.
