Description
This is one of the first original Diamond Head (what became known as the) White Album LP’s. This album was only available in 1980/81 to fans attending DH gigs or sending a cheque to DH HQ via an advertisement in Sounds weekly magazine. I bought this via the ad in Sounds and have owned it ever since. I understand there were two initial batches of a 1000 pressings. The first 1000 were mostly signed (not necessarily by all the band members) on the white sleeve - and the second batch of 1000 were mostly blank. All had blank large white record labels. I’m led to believe that the main difference between batch 1 and batch 2 is that there is an additional ‘EG’ in the matrix on both sides of the vinyl - which this one has. (Note - the 3rd batch had printed labels under Happy Face Records). Matrix - MMDHLP BILBO TA1PE 1015 (a + b) EG The condition of this is VG+ for the sleeve (and original clear inner) and Ex for the vinyl. I’ve just cleaned it with my Pro-Ject Pro cleaner and, as you’ll see in the photos, it’s looking excellent. The writing on side B is mine from 1980 because, at the time, I couldn’t figure out which side ‘Am I Evil’ was on! It’s only been played occasionally since the mid 80’s (damn cassettes/cd’s). So, a totally original, one owner, DH ‘White Album’. A few ‘unoriginals’ around, but not this one - it’s the real thing. Postage is for UK Tracked 48.
