Description

Original first UK pressing of Deep Purple's classic Machine Head, in superb condition.

This has 'The Gramophone Co . . .' rim text on the labels and the following 1st press matrix numbers:

Side 1: TPSA 7504 A-1U

Side 2: TPSA 7504 B-1U

Vinyl:

The vinyl looks great and has retained its original sheen with some hairlines, sleeve-removal lines and fine marks visible, but there is nothing significant anywhere. I have played the entire record and it sounds fantastic with nothing to report. I would grade both sides as Excellent plus (Ex+) or Near Mint (NM).

Inner Sleeve:

I don't know if this is the original inner sleeve since there is nothing printed on it - I think it's supposed to have "Made in Great Britain" printed on it. It is in very good condition with some light typical wrinkles.

Lyric poster/insert:

This is the original early version with a darker border (many early copies of this record seem to be paired up with later lyric inserts which have a much brighter-coloured border). There are signs of handling and use, but it has never been displayed so there are no pin-holes etc and no tears or bits missing.

Sleeve:

The sleeve has no writing, seam-splits, tears or stickers etc, just normal signs of age and use. Overall, this is a very presentable example. There are some slight creases around the edges and corners, and a few minor marks, scuffs and scrapes etc. There is not much wear to the edges apart from at the corners. The top and spine corners have only light wear. The spine is solid and firm with minimal wear, light crease from being opened and the text is all readable.

Labels:

The labels have no damage, writing, stickers etc.
