This is Bowie's best album and I'm happy to argue that case with anyone!  It was this album that really put Bowie on the map as a maverick force to be reckoned with and it is often rated as one of the best (and most important albums of all time).

The album is worth it for the final track alone!

The item for sale here is the original 1972 release, not the later rerelease.  The 1972 issue has the words "TO BE PLAYED AT MAXIMUM VOLUME" on the back of the sleeve, which is a good plan.

The sleeve is in VG+ condition - really nice condition for a 41-year-old record.

The vinyl, however, I could only rate as Good.  There are visible marks on the record and when played there is some surface noise and some clicks, especially at the start of each side.  It is a record that has been played a lot over the years, and it shows wear and tear.  I normally wouldn't put a record up for sale if it were only in "Good" condition, but this is such a classic, and the sleeve is so good that I'm sure it would make a nice addition to someone's collection, despite its flaws!

The inner sleeve is the original, with the lyrics of the tracks on one side and pictures of Bowie and the band (Bolder, Ronson and Woodmansey) on the other.  That is a nice item in itself.  It is slightly split at the bottom but otherwise VG.

I will post the record within 2 days of receiving payment.  It will be in a cardboard LP mailer, further strengthened by an additional cardboard insert.

PLEASE NOTE: The rear of the album does not feature the "Mainman" logo, which places this release as being before December 1972. Later issues had the "Mainman" logo below the "Gem" logo.
