Description

An original 1st press of S2S on the UK RCA label. Matrix 1E/2E - 1st cut. Some copies can be found on lighter weight vinyl in this period - I'm pleased to report this a very solid high quality effort from RCA. The vinyl comes housed in that original fussy white cover. Credit sheet included as is an original RCA inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) Simply wow.. A beautifully preserved original example that has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. If you are a BOWIE fan looking for a stellar rendition - a "jaw dropper".. then it is well worth taking a closer look at this copy. Copies this well preserved do not surface every day. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. On these late 70's Bowie ambient albums you're really going to need a particularly clean copy to fully appreciate the master at work. I'm loving it... I cannot fault it. This is just one of those occasional copies where delivery is nigh on perfect. Certainly within the best couple of copies I've witnessed. Expect nothing more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side [e.g. intro to Wild Wind]. But even this fussy track is playing way better that what is usually offered up. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) Truly a pain in the derriere to find in top level condition. Those unlaminated covers in white will easily have picked up all sorts over the years. But this example has clearly been carefully been looked after. Front and back seem to have largely avoided the ageing process - just a slight touch exhibiting along the opening edge. Back and front look clean and white - with only one noticeable issue.. that black squiggle down in the bottom right on the rear. There's very little edge wear at all and the openings are still sharpish. The main spine is 100% intact. The top edge of the cover exhibits just a touch [1c.m.] of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine specimen.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits. Slight tear at the opening.
Credit Sheet (Ex) Looks fine. No issues at all.
