DESCRIPTION: Extremely Rare Original 1st Pressing aka 1st Issue of the David Bowie vinyl LP record The Man Who Sold The World with 9 tracks released on the Mercury Records Label in the UK (United Kingdom) in year 1971 (Catalog Number 6338 041). This first pressing release features the controversial dress photo (David Bowie in drag) on textured cover and the misprinted vinyl record labels. First issues have the name of the Producer misspelled as Tonny Visconti on the record labels. Mercury Records later corrected this error and subsequent record labels state Tony Visconti. This is a genuine original pressing and has the machine stamped numbers in the A and B side run outs. Side 1 is stamped 6338041 1Y//1?420 and Side 2 is stamped 6338041 2Y//1?420. See photos.

TRACKS: Side One - The Width Of A Circle, All The Madmen, Black Country Rock, After All. Side Two - Running Gun Blues, Saviour Machine, She Shook Me Cold, The Man Who Sold The World, The Supermen.

CONDITION: Overall VG+ (Very Good Plus). The cover has some edge and corner wear with light wear to front and back cover. No splits to the cover. The title on spine is clearly legible as is the catalog number. Vinyl record is clean and bright and shiny with some light surface scratches. Plays great without any skips. Has a few light pops on The Width Of A Circle and Running Gun Blues. The inner sleeve may be the original sleeve as UK is printed in the lower right hand corner. The inner sleeve has some discoloration from age.
