DON PATTERSON – Tune Up! (1971) Prestige-7852 – EX/M- (cover/vinyl) “VAN GELDER” STAMP
Killer grooving electric organ-led session by the great Don Patterson joined by a multitude of excellent sidemen during four great cuts – “Just Friends,” “Flyin’ Home,” “Tune Up,” and “Blues for Mom.” Players like Virgil Jones, Booker Ervin, Sonny Stitt, Houston Person and others make this a classic.
This is a really nice copy. The cover is bright and tight and intact with no seam splits and virtually no wear. The original purple label vinyl with the “Van Gelder” mastering stamp in the trail off wax on both sides is glossy and clean and beautiful. I grade this conservatively: EX/M- (cover/vinyl).
