Description
Very rare Ska album by the Skatalites (uncredited), recorded in Jamaica on the Top-Deck label and released in England through Doctor Bird records. Matrix numbers: DB DLM 5000 A/B 1H.
I have machine-cleaned the disc and listened to it in full: it plays without skipping or sticking or repetitive clicks. There is low-level crackle between the tracks and during quite passages. There is substantial spindle wear - the record has clearly been played many times and handled badly, but there is no sign of deep groove wear and the music shines through. Graded as Good+ (Record Collector grading system).
The jacket is in one piece (just): there is a tear from the centre of the spine across the front to the centre. There are several tears in the opening edge. The unlaminated back is rather grubby, but all text is readable. Three of the corners have remnants of sticky tape. Graded 'Fair'.
