UK 7", 1-sided, Blast First FNUK-1, 1988
Unique chance to obtain a mythical single by Dinosaur Jr. - the so-called "whacked" version of the classic 'Freak Scene'!
Back in 1988, 'Freak Scene' was causing a buzz so the band recorded a censored version (with the swear words replaced by words such as "whacked") for UK radio. Blast First pressed up a handful of 1-sided white label test pressings (with the matrix number FNUK-1) purely for a handful of radio stations/shows who wouldn't play the original versions. It's been suggested that only 50 copies were made.
Later, this track was later added to the UK CD edition of 'Just Like Heaven' as the 'Censored Version'.
This copy was sent to a music journalist at Record Collector by Blast First, prompted by the magazine running an article about the band in the early 90s, circa Green Mind.
