This is David Bowie`s first ever LP from 1967 called DAVID BOWIE , on the Deram record label . As you can see , it is the ridiculassly rare UK STEREO version. All the serious Bowie collectors know how difficult an LP this is to locate.
Of all the Bowie LPs released to the general public , this LP is the rarest of them all , making it a true collectors treasure .
The record itself I would grade as Very Good ++ bordering on mint minus .
It certainly plays mint with no problems at all.The vinyl is stunningly clean and in immaculate order , very , very impressive .
The LP has a superb quality laminated front sleeve , and none laminated rear sleeve , typical of the 1960s .The sleeve has ringwear and some light creases ,still , very respectable considdering its 40 years old.The spine is totally intackt and all spinal writings are legible . Its biggest flaw is a small name written then crossed out , about an inch long and 4 mm high , above the word DAVID on the back of the LP .This album still contains its original inner sleeve and the vinyl has retained a magnificent sheen and very high lustre prooving lack of use to an extent one might say it looks unused ! This LP has been played but no more than a handfull of times .
So all in all a very respectable VERY GOOD ++.
Ebay has a way of making rare items , possibly , seem quite common.To give a little insight to the rarety of this item ...
I have been attending record fairs for over 25 years and in all that time I never saw this LP once .Not a single one ! If you are lucky eBay manages to find one a year and even rarer is the quality of this standard .
