For auction is the DAVE BRUBECK QUARTET's "Time Out" on Columbia CL 1397 MONO, DG, 1959. White Label 6-Eye PROMO Edition.
SOUND: VG+ or better
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The playback was overall, excellent! The following caveats apply: A1, "Blue Rondo A La Turk" has 3-4 soft "tics" in the opening, and 2-3 very soft tics later on. A2, "Strange Meadow Lark" has 4 soft tics in the opening, and about 10 seconds of soft surface static later on. B1, "Three To Get Ready," has 2 tics. Overall, these issues are minor, and do not detract from the playback in any significant way! All else is, without reservation, brilliant!
VINYL: VG or better
Visually, the vinyl shows some wear, with various light marks, but none beyond the surface, as I tried, but could not, "feel" any. Overall, the record plays a notch better than it looks! The record is one white, 6-eye, "promo" labels with deep grooves. Spindle hole has a bit of wear, labels are clean and bright, with "Take Five" circled in red pen. Matrix #'s as follows: "XLP47853-1G // XLP47854-1D"
COVER: VG or better.
The cover is in good shape. Front top right seam is split the last 2 inches to the opening, otherwise, all edges and the spine solid, with medium wear. Corners have medium wear. Front and back covers are fairly clean. Front has "J" in black marker upper left corner, and lower left corner scuffed. Back cover has some scuffs on lower right corner.

A great record, in good condition, plays very well! No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
