Description
Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition LP which is a RARE 1957 FIRST PRESSING release on the RKO Unique Records label and a custom recording of CHARLES HOLDEN and His Orchestra at the legendary El Morocco Nightclub in New York City--the album features recordings of a number of standards and sports beautiful cover art by artist JARO FABRY. The LP is a RKO Unique Records 1st PRESSING issue and a 1957 issue with the serial number ULP 120; it's a monophonic-only issue and was made in the United States.
This LP is in excellent condition and the vinyl is in VG++ condition and should play extremely well, with NO feelable scratches, a few moderate scuffs, some light paper scuffs and a few small pressing bubbles which should not significantly affect play except for possibly a bit of very light background noise in quiet spots and perhaps a few light and scattered pops in a couple of places; the textured cover is in NEAR MINT- overall condition with a few small pieces of transparent tape on the edges, two small underlinings (of the orchestra's name) on the liner notes, a small owner's name and address stamp on the upper right corner of the back cover, very light dings on the tips, a couple of light scuffs and light shelfwear otherwise but NO other significant flaws--it's NOT a cutout!
Vinyl Grading Standards (unless otherwise indicated, LPs are visually graded)
Mint (or M) – Sealed and effectively perfect with no signs of wear or ever having been played.
Near Mint -- A record with only the slightest evidence of ever having been handled.
Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) A very clean record that has no marks aside from slight scuffs and abrasions caused by removal from a paper inner sleeve or perhaps a few marks on the label caused by a turntable spindle.
Very Good Plus (VG+) A record that has had a number of plays and may have some superficial scuffs, possibly mild to moderate spindle marks and / or possibly hairline scratches on the vinyl, which may produce some intermittent pops and possibly very light background noise.
Very Good (VG) A record that has generally been well cared for, but has seen a fair amount of play, with some scuffing. hairline scratches, spindle marks and / or light scratches. Should play through well, with the possibility of more pops and more background noise.
Very Good Minus (VG-) A record with significant scuffs, scratches, and spindle marks that should play through with moderate pops and surface noise, possibly of some duration.
Good (G) A record with will play through, but with significant pops, substantial background noise, and possibly intermittent skipping.
Poor (P) A record with MAJOR issues that will interfere with play, and will possibly be unplayable in part due to damage (I'll only offer an LP in this condition if it's an extreme rarity and / or for cover art display purposes).
A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this vinyl LP!
