The original inner sleeve is Mint-

The labels are Mint

This is another Floyd album I am selling that is visually in perfect condition.  I suspect that this has never been played before and there are a couple of reasons for this.  Firstly, I cannot detect any hairlines, scratches or marks of any kind and secondly, there is just no spindle wear at all.  This record is a stunning specimen that's for sure!  It still has a fantastic glossy sheen and basically looks 'as new' as do the labels and run out grooves.  The gatefold is also one of the cleanest examples you are likely to find with only very minor shelf wear.

Play grading

'The Post War Dream' has very impressive audio from the very first groove.  For a record that is now 35 years old this super quiet intro plays with great clarity.  As you progress there is some light static here and there and a couple of static clicks but it still plays very clearly.  As the volume increases at the end the audio is stunning.  'Your Possible Pasts' is very nearly perfect until the final quiet section where there are a small number of static clicks again.  Aside from that it plays very clearly and for a track with so many quiet sections there is only one with any interference.  'One Of The Few' is superb from start to finish and qualifies as Mint as there is just no 'background' at all.  In fact 'The Hero's Return' also deserves this grading as again there is nothing to detract from the audio.  Not even a dust tick!  'The Gunners Dream' intro has to be heard to be believed!  So quiet and so delicate and yet this piano intro plays almost 'as new' with only a couple of mega light dust ticks.  This fine quality does not decrease and it plays with wonderful depth and clarity to the end.  This really is a stunning version and rarely have I heard this track play with such Mint quality.  'Paranoid Eyes' ends the side with immaculate clarity and barely any 'background', just a handful of non-intrusive dust ticks.  Aside from a little interference on the first two tracks this is a side displaying impeccable quality.

'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert' plays with near perfect clarity and there is very little static and certainly no clicks or pops.  This is a superb start to S2.  'The Fletcher Memorial Home' also plays to a very impressive standard with only the odd dust tick.  In the middle section there is a couple of static clicks but there is no other interference besides that.  'Southampton Dock' is another stunning track with only 3/4 static sounds.  The seagull on the intro plays perfectly with no 'background'!  The intro on 'The Final Cut' has just one light click but the clarity here is superb and you would not think you are listening to a record of this age!  The remainder plays 'as new', the quieter sections play with impeccable precision and the choruses have no distortion at all.  Despite the one click this track easily grades as Near Mint.  'Not Now John' goes one better and is Mint throughout.  This track will often have distortion but that is not the case on this version.  As I said there is no spindle wear and I would therefore say this record has been hardly played and that of course contributes to the total lack of distortion across the album.  The fade out also plays with 100% precision.  That can also be said with the intro on 'Two Suns In The Sunset'.  This track end the album with sheer perfect audio poetry!  There is no interference of any kind and it again deserves a Mint grading without doubt.  The clarity and separation of the audio could not be any better.  A fantastic end to an often underrated record.

The Gatefold

The cover is in excellent condition and has only minor shelf wear.  The edges are very clean and have only a little rubbing and the wide spine has just a couple of rub marks and is still 100% legible.  The corners have hardly any wear and remain in great order.  The opening edge is super clean and looks practically untouched.  The front cover is so probe to marking but this one is very clean and has only a small number of faint creases around the edges as is common.  The sticker, as can be seen, is still attached and remains in perfect condition.  The back cover has only a couple of faint marks and creases and the inside of the gatefold is immaculate and looks 'as new'.  This is an excellent example of this gatefold.

Inner sleeve

The original die-cut black poly-lined sleeve is in superb condition and has no splits or tears and no creasing either.

The labels

They are both in perfect condition with no spindle wear and no marking or writing.  As stated this LP has perhaps never been played before.  Rather impressive for 35 years old!
