D R HOOKER "Armageddon" - killer 2nd psych/prog LP rare

D R HOOKER "Armageddon" (Here/On, US 1979). World famous (in a small but hip world) for his mighty 1972 masterpiece "The Truth", Donald R Hooker came roaring back on the music scene with these recordings, made just 1 year after "The Truth". This album is almost as good, with a very powerful psych-rock soundscape, strong songs, and of course his Voice towering over the proceedings. As the sleeve explains, D R Hooker laid this down live in the studio but didn't decide to release it until 1979. There is some confusion around the pressings, with a supposed European bootleg floating around. This is not a Euro boot but a US pressing from the Rite plant, and comes equipped with a promo insert with a photo of the man. Possibly a 2nd run from D R himself? In any event, a M-/M- copy with only a few sleeve lines/hazing, as nice a copy as you can find, although the pressing isn't perfect. With insert.

This record has been professionally cleaned using a VPI 16.5 machine.

All items are graded M/M-/Ex/Vg++/Vg+/Vg/Vg-/G/F/P based on both aural and visual aspects. “M” corresponds to 10/10 on a 1-10 scale, while “P” equals 1/10. I rarely offer records below Vg+. This is a grading system used by many LP dealers, and I use it for other types of items as well. Grading for LPs/45s is disc/sleeve.
