Description
From England, this is Vogue Records LDE 087, The Quintet Of The Year - Jazz At Massey Hall Vol.3, an original UK 10", red label mono issue of this classic concert featuring Diz and Bird with Bud Powell, Mingus and Max Roach. The record is in VG++ condition, showing only the lightest of marks, which do not effect the play, keeping it from being near mint. The record plays quietly throughout. Remarkable for a piece this old. The cover shows some wear on the middle of the bottom seam, but is otherwise intact. The labels are excellent. The record has been cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. An excellent, collectors grade copy of this wonderful set. (BTW, volume 1 was the other half of the quintet concert while vol 2 was the trio. There was no volume 4). This is part of a large jazz collection I will be posting over the next few months.
