Description
- Artist & Title: Cause For Alarm ?– Cause For Alarm
- Label & Cat #: 1983 EP CFA-001 *The EP was Self-released and the catalog number info is taken from runout etchings (-A & -B matrix endings); a 2012 interview with vocalist Keith Burkhardt stating that only 500 copies were pressed
- Vinyl Grade A & B: Excellent (EX) play graded *all tracks play superb with a few superficial marks that did not affect play; shiny like-new vinyl and clean labels
- Sleeve: released as three-panel paper sleeve with lyrics, artwork and photos printed inside, but front panel removed at some point in time. Can't really grade, but the two panels are VG+ and include the lyrics
- Notes: Cause for Alarm was formed at the start of the 1980s under the name Hinckley’s Fan Club, with Rob Kabula on bass, Alex Kinon on guitar, and Billy Milano on vocals. Before long, Keith Burkhardt took over on vocals and the band became Cause for Alarm with drummer Robby Krpytcrash. Their self-released eight-song 1983 7-inch EP is classic ripping hardcore punk, faster and more metallic than most NYHC bands at that time. (Bazillion Points blog)

- (M) Mint: Record and picture sleeve appear absolutely perfect in every way. Grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.
- (NM) Near Mint: Vinyl is shiny with no obvious signs of wear and plays perfectly with no audible imperfections. Picture sleeve is close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident.
- (EX or VG++) Excellent /Very Good ++: Record or picture sleeve has a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Light paper scuffs and/or spindle marks may be visible with no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Picture sleeves show very minor signs of handling and wear.
- (VG+) Very Good Plus: Record displays light scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that may create some noise disturbances, but don't affect one's overall listening experience. Picture sleeve begins to show more prominent signs of storage wear and aging.
- (VG) Very Good: Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Picture sleeves may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming.
- (G) Good / (G+)Good Plus: Vinyl will have scratches and visible groove wear. Record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. Picture sleeves have even more pronounced defects such as seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects.
