Description

This is an original 1962 issue of the 1961 album by "Cathy Jean and The Roomates" "At The Hop" on Valmor 78. This album was re-issued in 1962 as "GREAT OLDIES" after a battle over revenues ensued over the first album's record jacket. As a result, a new jacket and record number were released which confused buyers at the time as "Cathy Jean and The Roomates" name is not placed at the top of the cover. Many people thought it was a compilation album but it is not.   In fact, The Beatles "Yesterday and Today" album suffered a similar fate as it was issued with two different covers and many people thought that it was also a compilation album by The Fab Four. Depending on your view, it was and it wasn't.   This legitimate album has a thick record jacket and a thick non-flexible record. The record jacket is in superb shape and is graded at NEAR-MINT 8 with almost no wear and only a cover ding which is located towards the bottom right side corner. Very slight. The seams and spine as well as the printing on the spine are centered and MINT 9! The jacket has shrink wrap on it.   The record as graded under a bright light is a solid MINT 9 with shiny, glossy vinyl and NO scratches or scuffs. Clear, deep machine stamping in the dead wax next to the labels guarantee its authenticity. A real beauty!! Also comes with the original inner sleeve.
