Condition of gatefold sleeve: VG- (no splits or tears, but rather scuffed at the edges and corners)

Remarks: This record comes in brown vinyl, which is translucent when held up to strong light. The inside of the gatefold sleeve is ostensibly signed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, although we have no way of authenticating these signatures. However, research on the internet indicates that 2,000 signed copies of the brown vinyl edition of this release were issued for promotional purposes, and the signatures on the current item are consistent with those we have seen on the internet. Please note that no inserts are included with this record. Because of uncertainties about the value of this record, we have opted to sell it via an eBay auction, rather than selling it on Oxfam's online shop.

Shipping information: If this item sells for £40.00 or more, then UK dispatch will be by Royal Mail special delivery next day (which requires a signature on delivery). All overseas deliveries (regardless of the sale value of the item) will be by 'International Signed For Small Packets'.

*****

This item is being sold by Oxfam, Bournemouth. It has been listed by one of our volunteers experienced in grading and listing vinyl, and we take great pride in describing items as accurately as possible. We have many other items for sale at Oxfam's online shop - http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop.

We grade items according to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide grading system, as follows:

Mint (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
