Intro: The legendary Trout Mask Replica (1969) is widely considered one of the most significant, influential, and challenging albums in rock history. Produced by Frank Zappa. Ranked at 60 on Rolling Stone’s 2012 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and frequently appearing in top 200 lists, it is a landmark of avant-garde and experimental rock. John Peel said of the album, "If there has been anything in the history of popular music which could be described as a work of art in a way that people who are involved in other areas of art would understand, then Trout Mask Replica is probably that work.”
Summary: Original 1970 US, Pitman press. Straight logo sleeve, comes with original booklet/lyric sheet and original black inner sleeves (VG). Sleeve has some ringwear. Nice clean classic pink Straight labels. Both vinyls retain their sheen, graded EX. Nice, clean audio, no sticks, skips, pips, pops or crackle. Part of my own collection.
Sleeve: Gatefold board sleeve. Shows ringwear, common on US thick board sleeves. However, it’s still ‘solid.’ Light scuffing on edges, although sleeves have splits on top opening edge 80mm and 100mm (see photo). Other than that, its whole. Probably Good/Good+? (obviously this is glue-able).
Includes the tri-fold lyric insert with drawings: Intact with creasing and minor age-related handling consistent with age. VG Also includes original black and white inner sleeves both with side splits (see photos). Comes with new polylined inners.
Labels: Classic pink label with White and Black STRAIGHT, all four sides in nice condition, no sticker residues, graffiti etc., graded solid EX- .
Vinyl: Heavyweight vinyl retains its original gloss under normal light. Shows extremely light signs of play, co0uple of wispy lines only visible under bright light - nothing that affects play, graded minimum EX- more EX.
Audio. All four sides play through with no problems, no sticks, skips, pips or pops, graded EX- /EX.

The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again – which this is. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
