This record has been play graded on a Project Debut Carbon Esprit SB turntable with an Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge.

Near Mint. - Records sound like new. All other items are new/unused.

All records are packaged with the upmost care and will reach you in the same condition that they left us. This record will be packaged in a Lil CLP, an 'Amazon style' premium quality, corrugated card record mailer. The record will be housed outside of its cover in a separate, brand new, inner sleeve and all will be contained in a sealed outer sleeve for maximum protection.

This record has been professionally cleaned with a Project V-CS record cleaning machine.

2012 return by W.B. Note: The years in storage in Warners were not kind to Trout Mask Replica. The masters seriously suffer from oxide loss, primarily at the head of each of the four master reels. Fortunately, FZ had Dick Kunc make ‘safties.’ These actually sound better than the Originals and are in excellent condition but alas, incomplete. This edition of Trout Mask Replica is from the ZFT Vault protection copies, transferred at 96K 24B, except for Frownland and Hair Pie: Bake 2 which are from the original damaged master tapes transferred to direct digital at UMRK.

Utilizing crystalline-quality safety masters kept in the Zappa family vault for decades by the trustworthy Joe Travers, the audio here is positively glorious. Every last skronk breathes full life into the room. Every twisted guitar figure uncurls onto paths previously unpaved. Every last bark and howl shines resolute through the vast emptiness of your mind.

Previous countless Trout Mask Replica repressings have used scans of scans of scans of the cover image, but for Vault Package #36 the original Cal Schenke cover photo has been tracked down and reproduced at its clearest - its resolution from the original release in 1969. If you've only ever seen a jpg online of fuzzy, smeared-looking CD issues from the 90's, be prepared to be wowed by the fully engaging spectrum this iconic image casts. This 2xLP is pressed on heavyweight 180-gram fruitcake fish-scale colored vinyl for that full-on frenetic feeling."

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
