CROSBY STILLS AND NASH  1969  C.S.N.   ATLANTIC (Polydor) 588 189 VINYL

One of the classic albums of all time and featuring songs that they debuted at WOODSTOCK" - their first big booking, as a trio.

- Where STILLS described them, to the gathered hordes, as being "scared sh**less"!

I played this a lot because it was and still is,  one of the best albums of the sixties and it helped to define/describe the moods and feelings of that great time.

(I will now remove my rose-tinted glasses)

The insert has the lyrics, to the songs.

This has the original "textured" cover (like a suede cardboard effect), so the edges are worn due to the nature of the material.

A piece of rock history!

=======================================================================================================

I started buying records when, in old money, singles were 6s-8d  and L.P.s - later to be known as "albums",  were £1-12s-6d,  so there are some in my collection that do, indeed, go back to the 1960's.

I don't have a record deck to play them on because all the HiFi equipment is up in the loft, as we have no room for it, in this house.

So these are being sold on the understanding that they were fine and had been in use, when they went into storage - but are untested and sold "as they stand" - NO RETURNS.

My first deck was a British make: Connoisseur, with a straight tone-arm and a Goldring stylus, then I bought a Technics belt drive turntable, with A.T. stylus and finally a Sony Direct Drive, with S shape, tone arm, strobe regulated platter (the one in the loft!) and A.T. stylus.

So these were played, not "ploughed".

I HAVE LOOKED AFTER THEM.

THEY COST ME A LOT OF MONEY ( back then, when I earned £640 a year!)  AND I WAS PROUD OF MY RECORD COLLECTION, so looked after them.

Some were loaned to friends, at times, who all had quality equipment - back then there was a friendly rivalry about who had the best or latest,  deck, amp, speakers e.t.c.

I am NOT a record dealer so I will NOT classify them as, "mint", "vgc" "fine" etc (or whatever the dealer terms are?) or make judgements about the covers, or inner sleeves according to record dealer protocols -  because I don't know how to do that, (to record dealer standards).

So, record dealers, please bear that in mind!  Any comments that I make are my own opinion - not a categorisation!  Nothing more!

I'm hoping that anybody bidding and buying is doing so, as a private buyer, in order to play them, listen to them and enjoy and appreciate the music, as I did  - and not to make "a killing" at record fairs!

They are USED records, some having been played very little and some having been played frequently.

(I had one person asking about "the precious inner sleeves" - now that  is  SAD!)

So please don't buy, from me, expecting something unrealistic that will make you a millionaire!

Please bear this, honest description, in mind - I am selling a cherished, cared for, USED record collection and  some of the records are over 60 years old!

I WILL NOT list any records that are obviously, visually suspect - but please remember that I can't play them, to test them - SO.....sold  "as they stand", with no returns.

I personally, can't SEE crackles and pops (can YOU?) - so if they are there, they are there - part of the old "analogue charm".

These are records that, LIKE ALL RECORDS, were bought to be played and listened to and not kept under wraps as investments.

Some of these albums were kept in the protective plastic sleeves, that you could buy, back then - but the sleeves are still are going to show some signs of use.

Please see the photos, for a better idea.

They have been stored in boxes, either in the spare room or in the loft.

There's nothing here, for YOU, Marina!

THESE ALBUMS WILL ALL BE AUCTIONED AND THE AUCTION WON'T BE ENDED EARLY, SO NO OFFERS, THANK YOU.  THESE RECORDS ARE NOT BEING USED, SO THE PURPOSE OF THE AUCTIONS  IS "TO CLEAR" THEM.          POSTAGE AT COST.
