CREAM “Disraeli Gears” original 1960’s UK vinyl
Highly collectable UK Mono press with A1/B1 Matrix.
The vinyl appears to be the first release from 1967 but this is in a 1968 sleeve. For example, vinyl labels credit track A3 to Windfall Music, track B4 to Apple Publishing and ‘MCPS’ is on side 1 label (as per 1967?) but sleeve is laminated on only the front side (as per the 1968 rerelease?).
Cream teamed up with producer Felix Pappalardi for their second album, Disraeli Gears, a move that helped push the power trio toward psychedelia ……. This, of course, means that Cream get further away from the pure blues improvisatory troupe they were intended to be, but it does get them to be who they truly are: a massive, innovative power trio. The blues still courses throughout Disraeli Gears …….. this is a very British record. Even so, this crossed the ocean and also became a major hit in America, because regardless of how whimsical certain segments are, Cream are still a heavy rock trio and Disraeli Gears is a quintessential heavy rock album of the '60s. Yes, its psychedelic trappings tie it forever to 1967, but ... the force of the musicianship make this album transcend its time as well. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Vinyl condition is Good+ according to the Record Collector Grading System. Record is shiny and flat with various scuffs and scratches that do not click or jump.
It plays through very well apart from (and this explains low start price) ….
a deposit on B1 = a 20 second click-scratch (does not stick or jump)
a deep 40 second click-scratch on B2 (sometimes sticks!)
a bit of crackle on B3.
Lots of spindle lines but minimal wear on the hole.
The sleeve is very bright with no major creasing and all edges intact.
Sleeve condition is VG+ according to the Record Collector Grading System. Corners: a little worn Edges: spine is unreadable but there is only minor wear to other edges. Creases: small creases on corners. Minor ringwear on front cover. Seams: fully intact. There is a small price sticker on the front.
Non-original inner dust sleeve.
Original release, plays well but with surface noise consistent with vinyl of this period. I am a lifelong record collector selling from my personal vinyl collection. My records are not modern re-issues.
I try to provide accurate descriptions. Records are play tested both sides for condition, not just visually graded. Nb hairline marks are a result of withdrawal from sleeves and have little impact on sound quality. All records will have some background noise and this often reflects the variable pressing quality. I only draw attention to marks or background noise in my listings if I consider them at all significant.
