Description
Colosseum 'Daughter Of Time' 1970 UK original vinyl album on the Vertigo swirl label, catalogue number 6360 017 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side A: 6360017 1Y//1 v420 1 1 3 Side B: 6360017 2Y//1 v420 1 1 2
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. When viewed under a bright light I can only see very fine superficial surface scratches on both sides due to bag movement and there is nothing that I can feel with light fingertip touch. The playing surfaces on both sides retain a good gloss finish and the record plays smoothly and clearly all the way through with just the bare minimum of surface sound on the non recorded sections - the audio is absolutely superb. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and very little lessening of the sound quality compared to new - it really is sensational and John Hiseman's drum solo, track 8, Side B 'The Time Machine' is simply amazing, it must be one of the best drum pieces ever recorded.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have a fair amount of light spindle lines, no writing, no damage.
The cover is a gatefold type made from a thick, heavy duty card which does not have any laminate or coating. The front surface is excellent with just a few small scuffs and short barely visible creases at the edges - the back surface is very similar although there are two sticker removal marks - one is to the left of the price code, in the top right corner, which has left a barely visible adhesive residue mark and the other just below it is similar, but as you can see has caused a surface scuff. The tips of the corners, top and bottom seams and edges, also have some scuffs. The centre piece is in excellent condition with just minor print thinning towards the top and bottom seams.
The spine is very square and in good shape, with just some small scuffs along it's length, one of which interferes with the 'A' and 'D' of 'Daughter', otherwise all the text and catalogue number is fully readable.
The inner sleeve is the original big swirl front and back, poly-lined and, apart from light browning and a few small creases, is in excellent condition - no seam splits, no tears, no damage.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the gatefold is at least 'very good+', the record is visually 'excellent' and the audio is at least 'excellent' (that's a conservative grading for the audio - from a personal perspective I happily regard this as excellent plus).
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
