We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. 1968 rare first pressing of and interesting psych band that morphed out of a killer garage band ...their mid 60's punk/garage 45 "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind" is legendary "cool" ...here, a couple years later, the drugs settle in...

This band were from the Plainedge and Massapequa area of Nassau County, Long Island, New York. Bit 'A Sweet was reportedly a top draw at the big discotheques in New York City. Their only album, Hypnotic 1 -- released by ABC in 1968 -- is a rare, and often over-looked, high-concept pop-psych album of the first degree. Today it is highly praised by collectors who are interested in psych-pop...

Originally signed to MGM, the band debuted with the 1967 single ‘Out of Sight Out of Mind’ b/w ‘Is It On – Is It Off?’ (MGM catalog number K-13695). If you can find a copy of the 45, be prepared to pay more for it than for this Lp.

Musically most of the nine tracks of "Hypnotic 1" are mixed lite-psych with a infectious poprock edge and is a classic gropwer with repeat plays... the tunes are highlighted throughout with injections of experimentation (notably quite a bit of electric sitar, occasional oscillators, phasing, various studio effects and early moog gurgles and gasps). Very original for he time with bits that include sunny California grooves with harmonies (’2086'), The Young Rascals blue-eyed soul/garage (‘How Can I Make You See'), bit of Beatles inspired mysticism (the ‘Blue Jay Way’-styled ‘Travel’), etc…. The album is nothing but fun and the band turn in a great cover of George Harrison’s ‘If I Needed Someone’, while the heavily phased ‘Monday – Tuesday’ sounds like the band was pending the afternoon huffing helium. All told though, a major label surprise, though plenty hard to find as collectors have caught on.

CONDITION: The cover: is solid and CLEAN, rated "EX" (excellent) very collectible given the rarity and not so easy to find a clean cover and with wild bright original colors, no writing and no split seams...has a tiny bb delete at top right 

The vinyl: is all glossy all over, clean "EX" (excellent)  play graded very enjoyable all the way....the labels are both clean too...
