1966 original first pressing of the second THEM album with Van Morrison on impact vocals with a feeling.....
Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page playing many of the guitar parts on this album...The group's second and last full album was recorded while Them was in a state of imminent collapse. To this day, nobody knows who played on the album, other than Van Morrison and bassist Alan Henderson, though it is noted that Jimmy Page was seldom very far away when Them was recording. The 16 songs here are as great as the first LP. The material was cut under siege conditions, with a constantly shifting lineup and a grueling tour schedule; essentially, there was no "group" to provide focus to the sound, only Morrison's voice, so the material bounces from a surprisingly restrained "I Put a Spell on You" to the garage-punkoid "I Can Only Give You Everything." Folk-rock rears its head not only on the moody cover of Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" but also the Morrison-authored "My Lonely Sad Eyes," but the main thrust is soul, which Morrison oozes everywhere -- his is a voice that could easily have knocked Mick Jagger or Eric Burdon off their respective perches.
This is a young, raw, hungry Van Morrison, singing Ray Charles, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Fats Domino, Dylan "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", and Bobby Bland tunes amongst several of his own. It's a far cry from Astral Weeks -- generally louder, faster, and more inherently R&B derived than any of Morrison's later solo material. Contains the excellent originals "My Lonely Sad Eyes" and "Bring 'Em On In." Morrison's vocal work with Them is energetic and emotive, and his timing (slightly off the instrumental rhythms sometimes) contributes to the enjoyment of these songs. "Could You Would You," "My Lonely Sad Eyes," "Bad Or Good," and "Bring Em On In" by Van Morrison. An album that holds ones attention throughout repeated listenings!

CONDITION: The cover is VG++ (nearly "EX" excellent) with tight strong seams, no bends and no writing, just very slight cover wear, nothing alarming and should fit nicely in most any collection...
The vinyl is all glossy on both sides, very clean M- playing TOP level
