Although horrifically rare THIS FLEXI IS IN A POOR CONDITION. ONLY THE 'CHRONIC' TRACK PLAYS ALL THE WAY THROUGH. THE 'LIVING DEAD' TRACK STICKS ABOUT 2/3's OF THE WAY THROUGH. Hence the low, no reserve, start price. See below for further info.
SLEEVE VG. Matt-finish, hand-folded and glued, black and white xeroxed affair. As you can see from the first scan, the record doesn't even quite fit into this supremely DIY style sleeve. For a flimsy, 31 year old sleeve it's stood up pretty well. Nearly all of the dings and creases are to the bottom edge and top left hand corner. Slight yellowing but no splits, tears, writing, tape or staining. That's the good news.
RECORD POOR. One-sided flexi disc. 'B' side is blank. As is often the case with flexis that haven't been stored carefully (and this one looks like it's partied-on-down with the best of 'em!) this copy has picked up a number of 'dents' (about 9 or 10 in total) some of which are worse than others. Nearly all the damage is to the right hand side of the disc as you're looking at it from the front. I can't promise how it'll play on your deck but on mine (a fairly decent Marantz) The Chronic track plays through fine. There's a lot of intro crackle over the dodgy, quiet, 'poetic' bit but as soon as the track kicks in it's fine. There's more crackle over the spoken intro to the Living Dead track but, again, as soon as things get going it's fine. The problem comes around 2 minutes in when it sticks and just won't go any further (though the track's nearing it's end by that point anyway). This is where the sharpest dent is.
Other than the dents it looks in pretty good shape. It's still got a high sheen and there's no ground in filth and the only other blemish is a fine hairline. The fact is though, it doesn't play the whole way through so there's no other way to grade it other than POOR. I believe some of these may have come with a folded insert. This copy does NOT have one.
