COMMENT....... THIS IS AN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE RECORD TO FIND, CHRISTY MOORE'S FIRST UK ALBUM "PADDY ON THE ROAD". THIS FIRST PRESSING WAS RELEASED IN 1969 ON THE BLACK MERCURY LABEL. I'VE LISTENED TO THE RECORD AND ALTHOUGH THE VINYL DOES HAVE A FEW LIGHT SCUFF MARKS AND SOME LIGHT SURFACE HAIR-LINES IT SOUNDS WONDERFUL APART FROM THE OCCASIONAL SMALL POP IN BETWEEN THE TRACKS.IT STILL HAS A REALLY NICE SHEEN AND I WOULD GRADE IT VISUALLY AS NEAR EXCELLENT.
THE LABEL HAS THE PREVIOUS OWNERS NAME WRITTEN IN SMALL LETTERS ON IT AND IT HAS A LITTLE VISIBLE SPINDLE WEAR.
.THE FULLY LAMINATED SLEEVE IS CLEAN WITH A SMALL CREASE ON THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER. I WOULD GRADE IT AS NEAR EXCELLENT
I AM PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ALBUM THIS IS AS I AM NOT NORMALLY A FOLK FAN. THE QUALITY OF THE SONGS AND THE MUSICIANSHIP ON THIS ALBUM IS INCREDIBLE. APART FROM THE OBVIOUS CONTRIBUTION BY CHRISTY HIMSELF I WAS ALSO IMPRESSED BY RAY SWINFIELD ON FLUTE!..........
