RARE Decca Records very first “Micro Groove” Mono press released by Decca Records, made and distributed in Spain by Discos Columbia S.A. (Columbia Records) in 1963, catalog number EDGE 77187, with machine etched matrix numbers QED 5908 in Side A and QED 5909-2 in Side B, with black/silver Decca Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND for all lovers, fans and collectors of Caterina Valente!!!

This EP with 4 songs sung in Spanish by Caterina Valente was originally released in 1963 and the same year it was released in Spain as part of a serie of EP’s sung in Spanish, where she was really popular. Front cover has a nice picture of Caterina Valente and the tracklist informed. Back cover has the tracklist with credits for songwriters and arrangers and the list of other 4 EP’s by Caterina Valente recommended. In labels all text is written in Spanish only, with full credits for each song. It’s more than interesting to see an amazing error, the song “Oración Caribe”, correctly written in label is misspelled “HORACION Caribe”, with extra “H”!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition, complete, clean and clear, with only some creases and light wear in all edges, more evident in the mouth edge and corners, with faint ring marks, with a sticker in front cover, the catalog number of the radio program which originally owned this EP, with a “x” marking the extra “H” of word “Horación”, and a date written in back cover. The record is in EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some scuffs and soft hairlines, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great VG+ or EX- condition the Side A, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole, a little rip and a big sticker with the same catalog number of front cover glued in front cover, and in absolute EX- or EX condition the Side B, almost perfect, but the push-out center is removed. The sound is in great EX or even NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some very occasional soft crackles here and there, almost impossible to hear if you are not looking for them, which don’t cause any distraction from the experience to listen and enjoy this record from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS which will satisfy any serious collector, a record with a very nice and UNIQUE Picture Sleeve and a great sound quality after about 59 years, with Caterina Valente singing in Spanish!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

___________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
