Here on offer is another from my personal collection, one of my all time favourite Caravan albums, a much more Jazzier bluesey feel to this album and the original 1st issue! 1st UK pressing! The album is in truely awesome condition throughout. Althought 'Brigete' decided to write her name on the label side 1.,, the audio is quite stunning throughout and plays absolutely perfectly on my systems and the vinyls playing surface is graded as very near mint, quite unbeleivable for a 36 year old vinyl! Another important factor which makes this album very desirable is that it was pressed from the earliest masters look -3w matrix both sides and amaizingly ''1'' to ''1'' mother stampers! Any who know the type of records that I sell on ebay would know that my main interest is the audio quality, From my personal experiance from collecting vinyl for over 40 years, the earliest stampers i.e pressed from the 1st mother produces the best audio quality available on vinyl, ans in my opinion in most cases during the late 60s through the 70s the best in any format available! Please do not underestemate the rarety of this album, there are many quiet places on this album and it is so rare to find a near perfect playable copy especially 1st pressings like this!!!! The audio is graded as near mint stunning audio seperation on all frequencies! look 36 years old like this!!

Waterloo Lily is a 1972 released album by Caravan on the Deram label. It is the only album made by Caravan with Stephen Miller as the keyboard player. He brought a jazzier feel to the sound of Caravan than had been heard on the previous album. The stand out track is "The Love in Your Eye" which has been featured as a live track for many years by the band!!

Caravan are an English band from the Canterbury area, founded by former Wilde Flowers members David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan. Caravan rose to success over a period of several years from 1968 onwards into the 1970s as part of the Canterbury scene, blending psychedelic rock and jazz to create a distinctive sound like their contemporaries Soft Machine. Caravan still remains active as a live band in the 21st century!!

Following the dissolution of their former band, Wilde Flowers, David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan formed Caravan in 1968. The band became the first British act to sign for American record label, Verve, who subsequently released the band's debut LP, Caravan, later the same year. After this Verve closed their rock and pop division, causing Caravan to move to Decca Records for the release of If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You in 1970, from which the title track gained the band an appearance on Top Of The Pops, and then Deram (Decca's progressive subsidiary) for 1971's In the Land of Grey and Pink. After the third album's release David Sinclair chose to leave the group, to be replaced by Steve Miller. The change in keyboardist caused a change in musical direction, and the band's next album, Waterloo Lily, was distinctly more jazz influenced than earlier work. This caused some unrest for followers of the group and the band disintegrated soon after Waterloo Lily's release, leaving just Hastings and Coughlan. The duo recruited viola player Geoffrey Richardson, bassist Stu Evans and keyboardist Derek Austin and toured extensively. This line-up did not make any recordings before Evans was replaced by John Perry and Dave Sinclair rejoined the group in 1973. The resulting album For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night!!!.

The Vinyl

The playing surface looks absolutely stunning for 36 years old and lays perfectly flat on the turntable free on any warping. This is the thicker heavier and deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings!! On initial inspection, I can barely see a blemish at all. Certainly (no) scratches or marks that would have any effect on the audio at all!! Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be sleeve removal only!

The Audio Quality.

This is one of the best that I have heard of this pressing! I have played this through track for track at very loud volume on a top system two times prior to listing! I was so impressed with the audio quality, in my opinion this plays as good as new throughout! (no) clicks, ticks or pops and certainly (no) skips or jumps! There is absolutely (no) signs of any grooveware or that this has been overplayed what so ever! Played on my systems with almost cd. quality it was that good Unbeleivable to find like this! beleive me!!! Audio graded as near mint throughout!!  .

The Labels

These feature the original light brown\white Deram labels (only 1st issues) in superbe condition apart from 'Brigete' has decided to imortalise her name on the label side 1. Very minimal spider marksd can only be seen angled to the light! This 36 year old vinyl has barely been played in my personal opinion.

The record Sleeve

This is the original Decca \Deram blue\white poly lined sleeve no splits or tares small inobtrusive name written on one side light creases with age, still in superbe condition. Original!

The Cover

This is the original 1st UK issue ''Robert Stace '' printed unlaminated cover! (Normally seen in a terrible state! There are (no) splits or tares and amaizingly (no) creases and (no) rubbing which is normally common on the cover , but this is near perfect apart from again a small name is written on the inside of the gatefold! Please note! This cover has been stored in a case seperated from the vinyl and sleeve for over 25 years or more which has helped preserve this cover all of this time free from the usual ringware and rubbing! This must grade at least excellent to excellent plus, would be near mint apart from the small name written! I challange anyone to find this cover in better condition after 36 years !!!!
